RECORD STORE DAY 2024

Record Store Day is just around the corner, and music lovers worldwide are gearing up to celebrate the vibrant culture of independent record stores. Since its inception in 2007, Record Store Day has become an annual tradition, bringing together staff, artists, and customers to celebrate music and community. It's a day dedicated to celebrating the unique experience of browsing through racks of vinyl, discovering hidden gems, and connecting with fellow music lovers. It's a chance for independent record stores to shine!

At Shrubs & Dubs, we're excited to announce our participation in Record Store Day 2024. Alongside an exciting lineup of exclusive releases. Here are some of our favourites from this years selection…

Fatboy Slim - ‘Everybody Loves a Remix’

Introducing a special treat for vinyl enthusiasts: six never-before-released remixes of Fatboy Slim's iconic tracks. This exclusive collection includes the highly sought-after Eat Sleep Rave Repeat (Calvin Harris Remix), along with the debut vinyl pressing of the Bruno Martini Remix. Dive into the groove with other revamped classics like Weapon of Choice (Kink Remix), Ya Mama (Dance System Remix), Everybody Loves A Remix (Harry Romero Remix), and Rockafeller Skank (Jay Robinson Remix). All presented on a unique Zoetrope disc for a truly immersive audio experience.

The Notorious BIG ‘Ready To Die (Instrumentals)’

"Ready to Die," the album that revolutionized East Coast rap for the gangsta era, catapulted the Notorious B.I.G. into the spotlight, making him a household name. Today, it stands tall as one of the quintessential hardcore rap albums ever produced. From start to finish, it embodies an original piece of American art, hailed as a true masterpiece.

De La Soul - ‘Live at Tramps, NYC, 1996’

De La Soul's "Live at Tramps, NYC, 1996" serves as a nostalgic journey for both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Recorded on May 16, 1996, at New York's renowned Tramps nightclub, the core trio is joined by various guests, including the then-unknown Mos Def, who was on the brink of making his debut with De La Soul on "Stakes Is High." Common makes appearances for a couple of tracks, while the Jungle Brothers deliver a standout moment with a reprisal of their 1989 hit "Buddy." This compilation of songs embodies the classic essence of De La Soul: a blend of introspective lyrics and youthful antics.

We invite you to join us at Shrubs & Dubs, Unit 28, BOXPARK, Shoreditch, on April 20th at 10 am as we celebrate Record Store Day in style.
