TOP TEN MOMENTS OF 2022
2022 was definitely an eventful year for Shrubs & Dubs! Here are our top ten moments from the past 12 months!
1.Amica Galentine’s Day Store Takeover
A galentines day to remember! We teamed up with friendship App Amica, the global community for women travelling solo, for a day full of pot & vase painting workshops and networking.
It was a day of celebrating all things friendship at the first IRL Amica meet up. A true embodiment of the Amica ethos, creating new friends and connecting shared interests.
2. Shrubs & Dubs turned 1!
We celebrated our first birthday!
Where did the time go? We celebrated our first birthday at 61A Hackney Road in true Shrubs & Dubs style. Lots of music, free plants and a few cheeky cocktails to get the party started! A big thank you again to everyone who popped down on the day and celebrated with us!
3. We were on a bill board!
We teamed up with Klarna in the lead up to Record Store Day 2022. We chose a selection of our favourite records from the store which ended up on a billboard in the centre of Shoreditch as well as a really cool in store interview with BBC Radio 1’s Tiffany Calver!
4. Record Store Day
We participated in our very first Record Store Day and what a day it was! The atmosphere in the store was incredible. There was such a great selection of releases on offer and we were lucky enough to get some great ones in store for all of you. We can’t wait to take part in the next one!
5. Foundation FM In-store Takeover
We teamed up with Foundation FM for an in store takeover featuring some of our favourite DJ’s.
Broadcasting live from the store all day we had some of the best DJ’s around take to the decks as well as interviews and an impromptu B2B DJ set. You can watch it back in our YouTube channel!
6. Shrubs, Dubs & Friends Pop-up
In May we hosted our very first pop-up, Shrubs, Dubs & Friends!
Featuring a selection of some of our favourite small business around. The pop up was packed full of everything from clothing & jewellery all the way through to homeware & cosmetics, and of course plants and records. It would be fair to say that it was a success! It was so amazing seeing so many amazing brands under one roof and giving people the opportunity to shop them IRL!
7. Green Rooms Market
We took part in our first Greenrooms Market at Old Spitalfields, in the heart of Shoreditch. We brought our unique Shrubs & Dubs flavour to the market with a selection of unique house plants and some great records to match. You can catch us back at the Greenrooms Market at the Bussey building in Peckham on the 12th February.
8. Shop Small Campaign
We were delighted to take part in Holly Tuckers shop small campaign. After being nominees in the High St awards the previous year it was great to be involved in such an amazing campaign. We were lucky enough to have Holly pop down to the store and check out Shrubs & Dubs in person.
9. Babes on Waves Takeover
Babes On Waves took over the store to host their very own Pop-Up. Celebrating small businesses owned by POC members of the Babes on Waves community. It was a day for retail therapy from some of the best small sustainable and environmentally conscious brands with a true Shrubs & Dubs style afterparty to wrap things up!
10. Shrubs, Dubs & Friends Christmas Special Pop-up
We ended the year with a bang and our second Shrubs, Dubs & Friends pop-up but this time it was Christmas Special!
We enjoyed the first one so much and from the response we got afterwards so did you! We couldn’t just leave you hanging so Shrubs, Dubs & Friends made its return, this time at Boxpark in Shoreditch!
We were joined by seventeen incredible independent businesses and created the ultimate one stop shop to get all of your Christmas presents! It was just as much fun as the first time round and so great to see Shrubs & Dubs regulars in person again!
